We’re happy to have Pataigin as a new member of Harbor Launch. Pataigin has developed a test that inexpensively identifies infections in less than an hour using bacterial lipid biomarkers.
The unusual name? It’s derived from the Irish word for pathogen. With technology licensed from the University of Maryland Baltimore, Pataigin identifies pathogens using lipid biomarker “barcodes” that can be “read” via mass spectrometry. The result? No need for cell culture, so infections can be identified more quickly. The company recently won a$25,000 Maryland Department of Commerce Life Award. Want to learn more about Pataigin?
